Sharing some of my favorite images from my magical week spent in the Swedish Forest at the Ängsbacka Kursgård Yoga Festival. You guys, it was such an unreal week filled with so much love, light and happiness. Also loads of soul-searching, making heart connections and finding clarity. Dare I say my week at Ängsbacka changed my life? Well, it's the truth. It did.
The Yoga Festival is a yearly affair happening during July. It is that it's setup like a DIY retreat experience. You get to choose your accommodation: tenting, staying in a yurt, staying in a bell tent or staying in a dorm room. During the week, their are yoga classes and workshops, freestyle dance classes, sharing groups, gong baths, satnams, sweat lodges and various other activities that you can participate in at your leisure. They serve three meals of day of glorious vegetarian and Ayurvedic inspired food that is fully accommodating to almost all dietary restrictions (gluten-free, vegan, yogic diet.) The food inspired me SO MUCH. All the food is mainly organic and a lot of the ingredients are sourced from their on-site organic garden. Ängsbacka Kursgård is situated on a huge and beautiful piece of property surrounded by magical Swedish woods filled with berries, bitter greens and mushrooms of all sort. There's a huge main house, many smaller buildings like a thatched roof building for small workshops, a sauna house, a raw food café, an organic garden and a big red barn and a big grassy area. It is also located less than half of a mile from a beautiful lake that you can swim in. My experience at this yoga festival was above and beyond. The people, space and food was so stellar. I actually unplugged from all electronics for the entire week and felt so nourished (mind, body and soul) by the time I was leaving. I actually didn't want to leave and wanted to stay a few weeks longer. I can't wait for next year; I'm planning on going back for a couple of weeks as a volunteer. Join me?
